Clinical Consultation Service

Stacks Image 385
While Dr Shub is not able to accept new patients for ongoing therapy, he does offer a clinical consultation service, which essentially involves a comprehensive assessment and development of a written treatment plan that can be managed by your GP, or Paediatrician.

The service is available to patients of all ages (children, adolescents and adults) and is particularly helpful for clarifying diagnostic issues and management approaches. It is also useful for those wanting a second opinion or medication review. It is not appropriate for acutely unwell patients who require intensive psychiatric management or hospitalisation.

This service includes:
  • Comprehensive assessment, which includes discussion of diagnostic issues and appropriate treatment strategies
  • Development of a clear and concise written management plan that includes diagnostic profile and recommendations for evidence-based treatment including specific medication details and dosages (if required) as well as psychotherapeutic treatment and parameters.
  • This plan is provided to the patient and GP and can also be shared with other health professionals
  • The management plan is executed by the GP (with recommendations for referral to appropriate psychotherapists provided if applicable)
  • GP is able to consult Dr Shub via email regarding any aspect of treatment
  • The plan can be reviewed and updated by Dr Shub each year if necessary.

Please contact us if you wish to book an assessment. You will need to obtain a GP referral specifically indicating that it is for a one-off assessment and development of a treatment plan (Medicare Item #291).
